Yogi Adityanath Criticizes SP As “Gang of Criminals and Mafia” In Fiery Phulpur Speech

At a rally in support of BJP candidate Deepak Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sharply criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP), calling it a “gathering of criminals and mafia.” Addressing the crowd at Tilak Inter College in Hanumanganj, Yogi claimed that under SP’s rule, mafia leaders and criminals thrived, with daylight murders of leaders like Krishnanand Rai and Raju Pal serving as stark examples. He alleged that figures like Atiq Ahmed, Mukhtar Ansari, and Khan Mubarak were all associated with SP.

In his speech, Yogi Adityanath accused SP of betraying its founding values, stating, “Today’s SP has strayed from the ideals of leaders like JP, Ram Manohar Lohia, and Janeshwar Mishra. SP is no longer about social justice—it’s a platform for mafia and criminals.” He also criticized the party’s impact on public safety, suggesting that SP members create fear, particularly among women. “Daughters in UP feel threatened by SP workers,” Yogi said, vowing swift action against anyone who harms women.

On national issues, Yogi questioned Congress’s support for reviving Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, implying it would only fuel terrorism. “The Modi government will never allow Article 370 to return,” he assured, reiterating BJP’s stance of “one flag, one rule” across the country.

The Chief Minister, who began his speech by bowing to the land of Prayagraj, praised the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025 as a symbol of India’s cultural heritage. He highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s work in securing UNESCO recognition for the Kumbh Mela, saying it has transformed India’s global image. Reflecting on changes in Uttar Pradesh over the past decade, Yogi remarked, “UP was once known for chaos and crime, but now, with the double-engine government, we’re witnessing a new era of development.”

He contrasted the current government’s initiatives with the alleged corruption under SP, where, he claimed, public funds were channeled to a select few rather than benefitting farmers and the poor. He urged the crowd to support BJP to continue this progress.

Present at the rally were BJP leaders including MP Praveen Patel, Ministers Rakesh Sachan and Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, and other local dignitaries.
