World’s Largest Blood Donation Camp Inaugurated At Narendra Modi Stadium In Gujarat

Gujarat marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday with a large-scale act of service — a nationwide blood donation campaign centred at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The event, titled ‘Raktadan Amrit Mahotsav 2.0’, was organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad and was officially inaugurated by Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

The initiative also celebrated the 61st foundation day of the organising body and highlighted the ongoing message of ‘Seva Parmo Dharma’, meaning service as the highest duty — a guiding principle often championed by Prime Minister Modi.

Blood Donation as a National Mission

Speaking at the event, Minister Sanghavi commended the effort as more than just a health initiative.

“Blood donation is not merely about saving lives — it strengthens communities and embodies our collective responsibility,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi has transformed leaders’ birthdays from mere celebrations into platforms for public service, inspiring citizens to contribute meaningfully to society.

Thousands of donors gathered at the stadium throughout the day, forming long queues to take part in the historic drive.

Camps were also simultaneously held across India and over 75 other countries as part of a broader global initiative to promote voluntary blood donation.

The campaign aims to collect over three lakh units of blood, with participation from both urban and rural areas.

Volunteers from across the country joined hands to ensure the smooth functioning of the camps.

The turnout demonstrated the growing public consciousness around blood donation and the collective willingness to contribute to health causes.

Officials from the Terapanth Yuvak Parishad and numerous other support teams managed logistics, medical assistance, and awareness activities on-site.

Minister Sanghavi also toured the venue and interacted with donors and organisers, thanking them for their commitment and dedication.

Remembering the Gujarat Legacy

Reflecting on the Prime Minister’s years as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, Minister Sanghavi noted that PM Narendra Modi’s tenure from 2001 to 2014 brought about significant changes in the state’s development model.

Industrial expansion, rural electrification through the Jyotigram Yojana, nutrition schemes like Balbhog, and global summits like Vibrant Gujarat marked a period of accelerated growth and international recognition.

More than just a tribute, the event underscored the idea that public service can unite people across backgrounds and geographies.

On a day traditionally reserved for celebration, India instead chose contribution — turning a personal milestone into a national mission of compassion and care.
