Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, extended his gratitude after welcoming nine women ambassadors and high commissioners to India at the Khavda Adani Renewable Energy Park and the Mundra Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
On International Women’s Day, Gautam Adani shared on social media that the diplomats admired how local women contributed to these large-scale projects.
Additionally, he described their insights as ‘truly uplifting’ and emphasized the importance of breaking barriers for a better future.
“Our family was honoured to host nine inspiring women ambassadors and high commissioners to India. I am grateful for their visit to Khavda’s Adani Renewable Energy Park & Mundra’s SEZ. Their praise and advice for the local women driving these projects were truly uplifting. On Int’l Women’s Day, here’s to breaking barriers and shaping a better future!” the Adani Group Chairman posted on X.
The delegation, representing nine nations, toured key Adani projects in Gujarat, where renewable energy plays a significant role in environmental sustainability.
Ahead of International Women’s Day, they visited the world’s largest renewable energy park in Khavda and India’s largest commercial port in Mundra, both managed by Adani Group.
During their visit, the envoys observed how women professionals and engineers are shaping India’s industrial, economic, and energy landscape.
Adani Green Energy, India’s largest renewable energy firm, is constructing the world’s biggest clean energy facility over 538 square kilometers – an area nearly as large as Mumbai and five times the size of Paris.
The visiting delegation included:
Indonesian Ambassador to India, Ina Krisnamurthi, highlighted Adani Group’s long-standing investments in Indonesia.
She stated, “This is an amazing visit for us, not only me as a person or an Ambassador. But as Indonesia , as a country that has a very deep rooted relationship with Adani group.”
“Adani has invested in Indonesia for a long time, so this visit has been very enlightening and very important for us to understand where India stands now and where Adani is now. So it’s been an amazing visit. Hospitality is excellent,” Ina Krisnamurthi further added.
Lithuanian and Seychellois envoys emphasized the need for global collaboration in sustainable energy, stating that Adani Group’s large-scale expansion offers valuable lessons for achieving shared environmental goals.
“I am participating in this great visit because the business developed here is relevant to my country, Lithuania. We have solar technologies and ports, and we look forward to establishing contacts for cooperation,” Diana Mickeviciene, Ambassador of Lithuania to India told ANI.
She further added, “I was inspired by what I saw. A couple of things stand out: the ‘scale’ and ‘sense of mission’. Using a landscape which is barren and developed to make it useful to the country in strategic ways. The high-level technology that we saw was outstanding.”
Emphasizing India’s progress in clean energy, the Estonian Ambassador to India however praised the country’s industrial growth and stated that it is ‘well equipped’ to harness renewable energy.
“We had an excellent and magnificent experience here. It was impressive to see the scale of the Khavda. I knew that it was big. We also have solar plants in Estonia, but I didn’t imagine it to be so big. It’s extremely important that we are now using renewable energy. India is very well equipped. In northern countries like Estonia, we don’t have as much sun, and we don’t even have as much wind as India. So, we are struggling a little bit with those challenges. But it is very impressive to see that solar energy has put into use to this extent,” Ambassador Marje Luup further noted.
