Squadron Leader Dr. Tulika Rani Honored By UP Deputy CM On Women’s Day

A grand celebration marking International Women’s Day took place at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow.

During the event, Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Keshav Prasad Maurya, honored Squadron Leader Dr. Tulika Rani for her exceptional achievements in both military service and mountaineering.

Dr. Tulika Rani, a former Air Force officer, mountaineer, international motivational speaker, author, and assistant professor, has made remarkable contributions across several fields.

She holds the distinction of being the first woman from Uttar Pradesh to successfully summit Mount Everest.

In addition to her mountaineering achievements, Dr. Rani made history as the first Indian woman to raise the national flag on Mount Damavand, Asia’s highest active volcano.

Her expeditions span across 26 countries, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, Russia, Africa, and Iran, further solidifying her legacy as one of India’s top mountaineers.

Career In The Indian Air Force: Inspiring Future Leaders

Dr. Rani served ten years in the Indian Air Force, where she excelled as an administrative officer and military training officer.

During her tenure, she trained hundreds of future officers, including India’s first three female fighter pilots, showcasing her commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders.

In 2021, Dr. Rani published her book Beyond that Wall, which earned her prestigious accolades, including the Sahitya Shri Award and the Young Writer Award.

Her work has been featured in major international book fairs such as the Kolkata International Book Fair and the World Book Fair in Delhi.

Her literary contributions further demonstrate her dedication to inspiring others, especially women and youth.

As an international speaker, Dr. Rani has delivered over 400 lectures, including two TEDx talks.

Her motivational speeches have reached audiences across the world, with appearances on multinational radio and TV channels. Her message of empowerment and overcoming obstacles resonates with people globally.

Awards & Honors

Dr. Rani has received numerous awards, including the Rani Lakshmibai Bravery Award from the Uttar Pradesh government, the FICCI Global Women Award, and the Delhi Ratna Award, among others.

In 2022, she was honored to serve as the brand ambassador for the Election Commission’s voter awareness program, SWEEP.

Throughout her career, Dr. Rani has been a staunch advocate for equal rights and opportunities for women. At the event, she urged struggling women to stay resilient and continue pushing forward in their journeys.

Dr. Rani’s story serves as an inspiration for many, emphasizing that no obstacle is insurmountable for those who dare to dream and persevere.
