Women Empowerment In Sarojininagar: MLA Rajeshwar Establishes 162 Sewing Centres

Sarojininagar MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh has achieved another milestone in women’s empowerment by inaugurating 10 new Tarashakti Sewing Centres across his constituency.

The new centres were launched during a programme at his residence in Ashiana, covering key areas including Neelmatha, Chandrawal, Raniyapur, Kudha Eintgaon, Bijnor, Ashiana, Kila Gaon, Ambedkar Puram, and Gaur.

With these additions, the total number of Tarashakti Centres in Sarojininagar has reached 162.

Under this initiative, the MLA has distributed more than 17,000 sewing machines, ranging from manual to automatic and pico to interlocking.

Mission Tarashakti: A Step Towards 200 Centres

The Tarashakti project, launched by Dr Singh in memory of his late mother, Smt Tara Singh, goes beyond offering sewing lessons.

It aims to create employment, build community networks, and strengthen social security.

Currently, this programme engages over 10,000 women in self-help groups, making them economically active and socially empowered.

The centres also serve as key venues for disseminating information about government schemes, ensuring women gain access to benefits aimed at their welfare and security.

The Tarashakti Centres have quickly become the foundation for women’s independence and collective strength in Sarojininagar.

By providing skills and linking them to economic opportunities, the initiative fosters sustainable livelihoods and community solidarity.

Following the inauguration, Dr Singh held a special interaction with intellectuals and respected citizens of the constituency.

Listening attentively to local issues, he assured prompt and effective solutions.

The event saw a strong turnout, with the youth particularly enthusiastic to meet the MLA, capturing photographs and selfies with him.

Several notable figures attended the event, including Anil Singh Gehlot, former MLA of Gauriganj, Chand Prakash Mishra Matiyari, Block Pramukh Sunil Rawat, BJP leader Rajesh Singh Chauhan, and various community representatives such as Rajendra Prasad Yadav, Luvkush Rawat, Banthara Ranjit Rawat, Karuna Saraswat, Anoop Sharma, and Mandal President KK Srivastava.

With the mission nearing its target of 200 centres, Dr Singh reaffirmed his commitment to further expanding the initiative.

The Tarashakti project integrates skill development with social and economic programmes and plays a vital role in shaping a self-reliant and empowered community of women in Sarojininagar.
