Woman, Three Daughters Found Murdered In Delhi’s Samaypur Badli; Husband Absconding

A gruesome quadruple murder has rocked Outer Delhi’s Samaypur Badli area after a woman and her three minor daughters were found dead in their rented accommodation on Wednesday morning.

Police have identified the woman’s husband, Munchun Kewat, as the prime suspect. He, however, remains absconding.

The victims were discovered in their residence at Chandan Park. The deceased woman, Anita, lived with her husband and their daughters aged three, four and five. Kewat, a native of Patna in Bihar, worked as a vegetable vendor at Azadpur Mandi.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Hareshwar V Swami, a PCR call was received at around 8:00 AM from the Chandan Park area. Responding officers found the woman and her three children with their throats slit using a sharp-edged weapon.

The husband was missing from the scene and is being treated as the primary suspect. Preliminary inputs indicate that a domestic dispute may have taken place on Tuesday night, although the exact motive remains unclear.

A crime team and forensic experts were immediately deployed to examine the scene. The bodies have, however, been sent for postmortem examination to determine the precise cause of death.

Residents of the locality expressed shock over the brutality of the incident. One neighbour who first noticed something amiss reported hearing continuous crying around 7:00 AM.

Initially assuming that a child had fallen, the neighbour later discovered the grim scene inside the rented room.

The family had reportedly been living in the area for six to seven months, and the husband typically left for work around 4:00 AM to sell ginger.

Police have formed multiple teams to trace Kewat. A case has, however, been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, of murder.
