The Western Railway has declared the cancellation and partial cancellation of 13 trains either originating from or passing through Ahmedabad on January 31 and February 1. This decision is attributed to the ongoing construction of a truss bridge in Kheda district, Gujarat, near Uttarsanda station on the Vadodara-Geratpur section.
According to a statement from the Western Railway’s Vadodara division, a “block” will be implemented on Wednesday and Thursday to facilitate the construction of a steel truss bridge. The cancellation affects a variety of train services, including Vadodara-Ahmedabad passenger special, Ahmedabad-Vadodara passenger special, Vadodara-Ahmedabad MEMU special, Ahmedabad-Vadodara MEMU special, Gandhinagar-Anand MEMU special, Ahmedabad-Vadodara Intercity Express, and Vadodara-Ahmedabad Intercity Express.

In addition to the cancellations, four trains will be “partially canceled.” The Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Express will be short-terminated at Vadodara, the Ahmedabad-Valsad Gujarat Queen Express will now originate from Vadodara instead of Ahmedabad, and the Jamnagar-Vadodara Intercity Express will be short-terminated at Ahmedabad.
The railway authorities anticipate that 13 trains will be “regulated,” resulting in delays ranging from 10 minutes to more than three hours. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly during this period of construction activity.
