As Bihar heads towards the Assembly elections, a video featuring local youths declaring ‘We want Mangalraj, not Jungle Raj’ has gone viral on social media, sparking political debate across the state.
The video, widely shared online, reflects growing sentiments among young voters in favour of the ruling NDA’s development agenda.
In the viral clip, one of the young men says, “We want Mangalraj, not Jungle Raj. Bihar is witnessing Mangalraj right now, not Jungle Raj.” His remarks endorse the NDA’s claim of bringing progress and stability to the state.
The phrase ‘Mangalraj’, symbolising peace and prosperity, has been widely used by NDA leaders to contrast with the Opposition’s alleged ‘Jungle Raj’ of the past. The video comes at a crucial time as political parties intensify campaigning ahead of the two-phase polls.
The video has generated widespread discussion on social media. Many users have echoed support for the NDA’s focus on development and security, while others have dismissed the Opposition’s repeated accusations of a return to ‘Jungle Raj’.
Political observers note that the clip reflects the aspirations of Bihar’s youth, who increasingly prioritise stability, employment, and infrastructure over traditional caste-based politics. NDA leaders, meanwhile, have amplified the message through their supporters, urging voters to reject any possibility of ‘lawlessness returning to Bihar’.
The Election Commission will conduct the Bihar Assembly elections in two phases on 6 and 11 November, covering all 243 constituencies. Voters will cast their ballots for 121 seats in the first phase and 122 seats in the second, while officials will count the votes on November 14.
With only days left before polling, both alliances have intensified their campaigns to sway voters, making Bihar’s political atmosphere increasingly charged ahead of a closely contested election.
