“We Do Not Trust Policed Investigation,” Says Bajrang Punia While Narrating This Incident In An Interview

The most prominent wrestlers of India have been protesting against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers accuse WFI Chief of sexual harassment and are demanding his arrest. There were seven women wrestlers complainants, one amongst them was a minor. Olympian, Sakshee Malikkh told the media that the ‘minor’ girl has changed her statement under pressure. She expressed, “There’s huge pressure on us to compromise.” She also accused Mr. Brij Bhushan of getting his men to call and threaten the complainants. The top most prominent wrestlers, Bajrang Punia and Sakshee Malikkh also claimed that the girl’s father was under depression because of the pressure.

“Impartial probe not possible without Mr. Bhushan’s arrest,” says Sakshee

Sakshee expressed that,” An impartial probe can’t be conducted without Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s arrest.” To this, Mr. Punia added, “Mahapanchayat’ today decided they would plan future strategy after June 15, the deadline for the investigation given by Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur.”

Police investigation put into question by Bajrang Punia

Mr. Punia clearly stated that they do not trust police investigation and narrated an incident from the day before. He said, “The police yesterday took a woman wrestler to the Wrestling Federation of India office despite Brij Bhushan Singh being present there. The woman asked if Mr Singh was at the office, the police lied and said he wasn’t. She got scared when she got to know he was there.”

The minor wrestler was not actually ‘minor’

The ‘minor’ wrestler was not underage when the event took place. The minor herself confessed and recorded a fresh statement. His father said that the accusations of sexual harassment remain the same, however, the age-related number is a bit different.

Mr. Brij Bhushan turn-down the allegations

The BJP Mp has denied all the allegations that have been levied on him. He says, “If a single allegation against me is proven, I will hang myself. If you (wrestlers) have any evidence, present it to the Court, and I am ready to accept any punishment.”
