To amplify the spiritual aura of Maha Kumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced the continuation of the cherished tradition of showering flowers from helicopters.
This practice has become a symbol of reverence towards Sanatan culture and faith.
Prayagraj Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant confirmed that, under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, flower showers have been a part of numerous religious events, including the Kumbh, Magh Mela, and Kanwar Yatra.
Pant stated, “This revered tradition will continue during Maha Kumbh 2025. Flower showers will not only take place over the Sangam Nose but also at all major ghats, keeping in mind the expected surge in devotees. We are finalizing detailed plans for this.”
Since the Yogi government came to power, the flower showers have become a poignant symbol of respect for Sanatan culture.
Whether during the holy bathing festivals at Kumbh, the Magh Mela, or the Kanwar Yatra, the Yogi administration has regularly paid homage to the devotees with this heartfelt gesture.
In 2021, millions witnessed this spectacle during Mauni Amavasya, which sparked widespread appreciation, with the hashtag #PushpVarsha trending on social media.
For Maha Kumbh 2025, this tradition will likely be expanded on an even grander scale, further enriching the spiritual atmosphere and creating lasting memories for devotees from around the world.
