Meerut: An inquiry by the UP Police has determined that the reported theft of helicopter parts from Partapur airstrip was fraudulent. The complaint was made by a former pilot, Ravindra Singh, who had a dispute with the involved parties. The investigation found no theft occurred; instead, the helicopter was disassembled by the purchasing company and transported.
Ravindra Singh, formerly of Saar Aviation Company, reported to SSP Dr. Vipin Tada on September 11 that a helicopter, which had arrived for repair on May 10, was stolen. Singh claimed that several individuals dismantled the helicopter and transported the parts by truck, and that he was assaulted when he protested. This complaint led to significant media attention and political scrutiny, with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav questioning the state government’s handling of law and order.
SSP Meerut assigned ASP and CO Brahmapuri Antriksh Jain to investigate the matter. The inquiry revealed that Singh’s claims were false. Singh had been with Saar Aviation until October 2023, then became a ten percent partner before being fired. Saar Aviation’s helicopter, sent to Shaurya Aeronautics for maintenance, was sold to industrialist Atul Jain, who disassembled it for transport due to a fault. Atul Jain, from Gandhinagar’s Mode Air, plans to report the incident to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. SSP Dr. Vipin Tada confirmed that the matter was a result of a personal dispute. Further action will follow the detailed report from ASP.
