UP CM Yogi Adityanath Vows Zero Tolerance For Criminalizing Politics, Urges Support For PM Modi’s Third Term Bid

Balrampur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared on Friday that the state would not tolerate the criminalization of politics, warning that those who jeopardize the future of youth would face consequences. Speaking at an event in Balrampur to launch and lay the foundation stone for projects worth more than Rs 1,700 crore, the chief minister stated that certain criminal elements had sought to destroy the state’s beauty.

While Adityanath did not identify individuals, he frequently criticized opposition parties, particularly the Samajwadi Party, for harbouring people with criminal records. Adityanath emphasized, “The criminalization of politics is the largest impediment in the system. However, we have vowed never to accept the criminalization of politics.

“We will not allow anyone to jeopardize the future of our youth. Whoever attempts to mess with the youth’s future will face consequences,” claimed UP CM. He asserted that the twin-engine government (with the BJP at the centre and in the States) is working tirelessly toward this goal. Adityanath’s statements come a day after asserting at an event that individuals engaged in recruitment exam leaks had been taught a lesson, with their “houses raided and properties confiscated.”

On Friday, at a Balrampur gathering, the chief minister stated that the country has improved under the Narendra Modi government and urged people to vote for him to become prime minister for the third time.

With Lok Sabha elections looming in the coming months, Adityanath has intensified public meetings and launched projects around the state in recent days. On Wednesday, the Chief Minister visited an event for micro, small, and medium-sized firms (MSMEs) in Lucknow before heading to Unnao, Farrukhabad, and Bareilly districts for public engagements.

On Thursday, after addressing a function in Lucknow, he held public meetings in Ambedkar Nagar, Ayodhya, and Gonda districts. Adityanath’s remarks have focused on the construction of the Ram temple; government projects for free rations, and enhanced law and order.

He has also targeted rival parties, accusing them of corruption and supporting criminals in politics. Uttar Pradesh, with 80 Lok Sabha seats—the most of any state in the country—is one of the most important states for the BJP, which hopes to win the most seats in UP to achieve a third term at the Centre.
