The Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force (STF) has arrested two individuals, Arun Kumar Singh and Saurabh Shukla, both residents of Pratapgarh, in connection with the leakage of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission’s (UPPSC) Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) examination papers. The exam, held statewide on February 11, was postponed by state authorities on March 2 due to concerns about widespread paper leaks.
According to an STF press statement, Singh and Shukla were summoned to the STF headquarters, where they were arrested following interrogation. The STF revealed that both accused had received a copy of the exam paper from another mastermind on their phones a day before the exam. Subsequently, they shared the material with others and charged them for it. Investigations into the matter are ongoing, as stated by STF authorities.
The names of the apprehended suspects will be included in the FIR filed in Kaushambi district related to the document leak. The FIR was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including cheating, forgery of valuable documents, cheating, and passing a forged document off as real.
