Union Ministers Hail PM Modi As He Becomes India’s Longest-Serving Elected PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emergence as India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister drew congratulatory messages from senior Union Ministers on Wednesday, with several leaders describing the milestone as a reflection of public trust in his leadership and governance.

PM Modi completed 4,399 days in office on Tuesday. With that, he surpassed the record held by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

Having secured consecutive electoral mandates in 2014, 2019 and 2024, PM Modi now holds the record for the longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister in India’s history.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar congratulated PM Modi on the milestone and described it as a historic moment.

In a post on X, Jaishankar said PM Modi’s 4,399 days in office reflected the enduring trust and confidence that people had repeatedly placed in him through successive democratic mandates.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal also congratulated PM Modi and described the occasion as historic. He said the Prime Minister’s leadership had driven transformative reforms that reshaped India’s development journey while benefiting farmers, entrepreneurs, women, MSMEs, youth and the middle class.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said PM Modi’s government had delivered major reforms and welfare programmes with speed and scale. She further added that the government had maintained a strong focus on inclusive development.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia described the achievement as a reflection of the trust of 140 crore Indians. He also praised PM Modi’s ‘Nation First’ approach.

The Minister credited the government with advancing welfare initiatives, women’s empowerment, youth development and India’s global standing.

Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted progress in economic growth, digital transformation and infrastructure development under PM Modi’s leadership.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated PM Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. He described the Prime Minister as a tireless leader guided by the principle of ‘Nation First’.

The Minister further said PM Modi’s leadership had strengthened India’s development, enhanced its global stature and boosted national confidence.

Rajnath Singh said PM Modi’s vision has played a key role in shaping the country’s development journey. He further added that the vision would continue to guide India towards the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
