Tragic Fire in Madhya Pradesh Claims 11 Lives, Leaves Approximately 200 Injured

An explosion at a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Bairagarh village, located in Harda district, has tragically claimed the lives of at least 11 individuals, with over 100 reported injuries. The blast, which occurred on Tuesday morning, had devastating repercussions, engulfing more than 50 homes in the vicinity of the factory. Sources indicate that the explosion was exacerbated by a significant quantity of gunpowder present within the facility.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has conveyed his deep sorrow over the incident and affirmed that those responsible will face severe consequences. He underscored the state government’s commitment to taking stringent action against the culprits. In a statement on his official account, Yadav expressed his heartfelt condolences and emphasized the government’s determination to ensure justice for the victims.

In response to the emergency, Chief Minister Yadav has directed the burn units of Indore and Bhopal Medical Colleges to be prepared for the influx of patients. Additionally, a green corridor has been established from Harda to Bhopal to facilitate the swift transportation of victims requiring medical attention.

IG Irshad Wali on the incident

Regarding the same, IG Narmadapuram Irshad Wali says, ” FIR registered in the incident. There have been 10 casualties, and 150 injured in the incident. Debris is being removed, to be cleared by deployment of additional machines. The fire is totally under control. The nearby houses have been vacated; the area cordoned off.”

PM Modi expresses his sympathies

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the families of each deceased individual and Rs 50,000 for those injured in the explosion. He extended his sympathies to the affected families and assured them of government support during this challenging time. The Prime Minister’s Office relayed Modi’s message via a post on social media, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to aiding all those impacted by the tragedy.

President Droupadi Murmu responds

President Droupadi Murmu also expressed her condolences to the grieving families affected by the Harda incident, echoing sentiments of sorrow and solidarity during this difficult period.
