Rajasthan Accident
In a heart-wrenching incident on Rajasthan’s National Highway, 11 lives were tragically lost, with 12 others sustaining injuries, as a truck collided with a stranded bus. The ill-fated bus, en route from Pushkar, Rajasthan, to Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, experienced a breakdown around 4.30 am. The accident unfolded on a bridge, where the bus had come to a halt due to fuel exhaustion. Shockingly, the truck struck the bus from behind, resulting in the immediate loss of five men and six women, while several others were injured.
According to a survivor’s account, the bus driver and some passengers were outside the vehicle, attempting to address the mechanical issue when the high-speed truck plowed into them. Mridul Kachawa, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Bharatpur, remarked on the tragic incident, stating that the bus was stationary on the highway while repair work was in progress. Some passengers remained inside the bus, while others were outside when the horrific collision occurred.
Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the accident, and police have registered a case to determine the circumstances surrounding this devastating incident.
In response to this tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured victims.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his deep sorrow over the accident and extended his condolences to the grieving families. In a tweet, he said, “The death of 11 people in a collision between a bus, which had come from Gujarat, and a trailer in Bharatpur is extremely sad.
The police administration is present at the spot, and the injured have been admitted to the hospital. I pray to God to give peace to the souls of all the deceased and courage to the families. May God give speedy recovery to all the injured.”
