Firozabad: Police Station North and SOG police team have arrested a top 10 criminal in an encounter late on Sunday night. The miscreant, who was injured by a bullet in his leg, has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Additional Superintendent of Police, City, Sarvesh Kumar Mishra said that the Police Station North and SOG team were on patrol in the area late on Sunday night when, during joint checking, an attempt was made to stop a bike on Bendi ki Pulia bypass. The bike rider tried to escape by firing at the police party.
Meanwhile, the police retaliated in self-defense, in which the bike rider was shot in the leg and was arrested. He was immediately sent to the district hospital for treatment.

During interrogation, the criminal revealed his identity as Sanju Kashyap alias Sanju Dhimar, son of Buddhasen, resident of Panchsheel School, Satya Nagar Police Station North, current address as Kailash Nagar Police Station North.
A pistol, 6 cartridges, and a stolen motorcycle have been recovered from the possession of the accused. ASP said that the arrested accused Sanju Kashyap alias Sanju is a top 10 criminal of North police station, who has been accused of more than 30 robberies in Firozabad and other districts.
Murder and serious charges have been registered against him. Presently, he was wanted in an arrest warrant in a murder case.
