Tihar Trashes AAP’s ‘Conspiracy To Kill Sisodia In The Prison’ Charge

The Delhi prisons department rubbished the charge of Aam Aadmi Party of a plot to kill its senior leader Manish Sisodia in the jail.

Manish Sisodia is cooling his heels in Tihar jail where he is on fourteen-day judicial custody. Today the Delhi prisons department trashed the allegation of the Aam Aadmi Party which seems to be a part of the party strategy. The AAP allegation says there might be a hidden plot that can kill the party’s senior leader who happens to be the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi as well, in Tihar jail.

Number two leader of the AAP, Manish Sisodia who also is Delhi’s former Deputy Chief Minister, was arrested last month in relation to the Delhi liquor policy case and he currently is in judicial custody. On Friday his bail petition will be taken up.

In a statement, the prisons department said that keeping his security in mind the Aam Aadmi Party leader has been ”assigned to a segregated ward”.

“Manish Sisodia is lodged in the ward of CJ-1, which has minimum number of inmates. The inmates are not gangsters and are the ones who are maintaining good conduct inside the prison,” says the prisons department. The statement was in response to AAP’s allegation that their leader has been lodged with violent prisoners and dangerous.

“For his meditation or for doing such other things without disturbance, a separate cell has been provided to Manish Sisodia. The jail management has made all the arrangements, as per Prison Rules ensuring his security and safety. Any such aspersions cast over his lodgings is baseless,” adds the department.
