“There Was a Big Game Plan”, Says Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij

Chandigarh finds itself in a state of concern as the aftermath of communal clashes in Nuh unfolds. Anil Vij, Haryana’s Home Minister, provided an update on the situation, revealing that a total of 202 arrests have been made, and 80 individuals have been placed under preventive detention in connection with the clashes. This step is part of the authorities’ effort to quell any potential escalation of violence and maintain order. He also stated that there was a big game plan behind the communal clashes in the Nuh’s district.

Vij’s statement has shed light on the possible premeditated nature of the clashes. He pointed out that bullets were fired from hillocks, and stones had been systematically gathered on rooftops of buildings, indicating a level of planning that goes beyond spontaneous violence.

The situation’s gravity is emphasized by the fact that 102 First Information Reports (FIRs) have already been filed by the police as they attempt to piece together the series of events that led to this unfortunate incident.

The Home Minister asserted that those involved in the violence would not be exempt from the legal consequences of their actions. He confirmed that the detainees were currently undergoing questioning, and the authorities are committed to unearthing the root causes and factors that contributed to this situation.

The widespread presence of lathis (clubs) in the hands of participants raised suspicions about potential coordination and outside influence. Vij went as far as raising questions about the sources of these weapons and lathis, a signal of a deeper investigation to come.

Vij’s proactive approach is notable. He highlighted the significant role that bullets played in the violence, alluding to the potential presence of firearms and the need to trace their origin. This approach aligns with his previous comments, in which he hinted at the possibility of a mastermind orchestrating the clashes.

However, the Nuh Superintendent of Police, Narendra Singh Bijarnia, has introduced a different perspective. He stated that, based on the ongoing investigation, there is currently no evidence of a mastermind behind the clashes. According to Bijarnia, the available information suggests the involvement of various disparate elements that are currently being identified and apprehended.

The situation’s complexity is evident in the varied narratives emerging from different authorities. The Nuh communal clashes continue to be a subject of intense scrutiny as the region strives to regain its equilibrium and ensure the safety of its residents.
