Legislator for the Telangana BJP T Raja Singh has declined to take the oath from AIMIM’s Akbaruddin Owaisi, who was chosen by the state assembly’s protem speaker. In the assembly elections held last month, Mr. Singh, who won from Goshamahal, stated that none of the BJP lawmakers would take an oath of office.
He declared that he would never swear an oath in front of AIMIM “as long as he is alive” in a video message. He indicated he would not take the oath of office until a full-term speaker had been chosen.

“Can I take oath in front of a person (Akbaruddin Owaisi) who made anti-Hindu comments in the past,” he said.
Since the AIMIM was also responsible for the appointment of the Protem Speaker in 2018, Mr. Singh had previously declined to take an oath.
On Saturday, Mr. Owaisi was supposed to take the oath in his capacity as Protem Speaker and thereafter administer it to the elected MLAs today.
According to Mr. Singh, Revanth Reddy, the current chief minister of Telangana for the Congress, is afraid of the AIMIM, just like his predecessor K Chandrashekar Rao was, which is why he gave Mr. Owaisi the position of protem speaker.

According to convention, the oldest member of the assembly is designated as the Protem Speaker. For the sixth time, Mr. Owaisi was chosen from the Chandrayangutta constituency to serve in the assembly, which includes the combined Andhra assembly.
Mr. Singh countered that the new Chief Minister was attempting to curry favor with AIMIM politicians and minorities, even though he believed that a number of senior MLAs might have been appointed Protem Speaker.
