Teen Pushed By Her Mother’s Lover, Dialled 100 While Hanging From Bridge

A 13-year-old girl in the Guntur region of Andhra Pradesh saved herself by clinging to a plastic pipe after being thrown down a bridge by her mother’s live-in partner.

Keerthana was thrown off the bridge and into the Godavari river early on Sunday morning together with her mother Puppala Suhasini (36) and sister Jersey (1). But the 13-year-old managed to hang onto a piece of plastic tubing and dial 100 to contact the police.

The suspect, Ulava Suresh, lived with the mother. Keerthana was able to grab a nearby plastic cable pipe as he shoved them off the Ravulapalem Gautami Bridge since he had landed close to it. As she was hanging, she grabbed into her pocket for her phone and dialled 100 to call the police.

Police were able to save the girl, but both the mother and the 1-year-old child went missing.

We received a call asking for assistance at around 3:50 am on Sunday. In a perilous scenario, a girl was discovered clinging to the bridge pipe line when we arrived at the scene at 4 am, according to Ravulapalem police.

The highway mobile team and the Ravulapalem police managed to save the girl.

We were driven to Rajamahendravaram by Suresh, who lives with my mother. After the police pulled Keerthana and the other two out of the car and into the Godavari River, she claimed, “He stopped the car on Ravulapalem Bridge under the pretence of taking a selfie and pushed the three of us in.”

Two teams were organised by the police, one to look for Sahasini, 36, and Jersey, a little child, and the other to apprehend Suresh, the accused.
