Swami Rambhadracharya Rebukes Mohan Bhagwat’s Remarks On ‘Hindu Leaders’

Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya has openly criticized Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent statement cautioning against individuals aspiring to become “leaders of Hindus” by stirring temple-mosque disputes.

Expressing his discontent, Swami Rambhadracharya told a news agency, “I completely disagree with Mohan Bhagwat’s statement. Let it be clear, Mohan Bhagwat is not our disciplinarian; rather, we are his.”

Bhagwat, in his Thursday address, had expressed concern over the resurgence of temple-mosque controversies and warned against communal polarization. He asserted that instigating such disputes would not qualify anyone as a leader of Hindus.

Swami Rambhadracharya also voiced concern over the ongoing tensions in Sambhal, calling the situation alarming but hopeful. “What is happening in Sambhal is deeply troubling. However, the positive side is that the facts being revealed favor Hindus. We will safeguard this through the courts, the ballot, and public support,” he stated.

Highlighting the plight of Hindus in Bangladesh, he condemned the reported violence against the minority community. “The atrocities are appalling. We have raised this issue with the government. The interim Bangladeshi regime is cruel, but those responsible will face justice,” he asserted.

Looking ahead, Swami Rambhadracharya encouraged devotees to participate in the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. “Everyone must come and take a holy dip. Pray for Bharat’s unity and integrity,” he said, extending an invitation to Hindus nationwide.

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 begins on January 13 with the Paush Purnima Snan and concludes on February 26 with Maha Shivratri. Held every 12 years, it is considered one of Hinduism’s most significant spiritual gatherings.
