The grand inauguration of the Surat Diamond Bourse building in Gujarat, set to be the world’s largest office annex, is eagerly anticipated on December 17, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the event.
Surat, renowned for producing 92% of the world’s natural diamonds, established the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) as a comprehensive hub facilitating both manufacturing and trading aspects of the diamond industry.

In August of this year, the infrastructure within the Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City gained recognition from the Guinness World Records as the largest office building globally.
The SDB, constructed for $35,000, boasts an impressive built-up area of 6.7 million sq ft, surpassing even the size of the Pentagon. This megastructure comprises nine towers, each with ground plus 15 floors, offering office spaces ranging from 300 sq ft to 75,000 sq ft. The complex houses 4,500 offices, serviced by 125 lifts and interconnected by 24 spine corridors.
Designed to cater to more than 65,000 diamond professionals, including cutters, polishers, and traders, the SDB serves as a convenient center for the diamond industry.

Beyond office spaces, the Diamond Bourse campus features a plethora of amenities, including secure deposit vaults, conference halls, multipurpose halls, restaurants, banks, customs clearance facilities, convention centers, exhibition spaces, training facilities, entertainment areas, and a club. All these facilities are complemented by comprehensive security measures, ensuring a thriving and secure environment for the diamond professionals converging at this monumental hub.
