At a major event hosted by Bharat Express, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi sharply criticised the opposition while highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s rapid progress in defence manufacturing.
Speaking at the Bharat Express Mega Conclave, Trivedi applauded the administration led by CM Yogi Adityanath for pushing industrial expansion and strengthening India’s strategic autonomy in the defence sector.
He asserted that the state has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past few years.
Trivedi took a swipe at opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi. He remarked that earlier Uttar Pradesh was associated with the production of illegal country-made firearms, commonly called ‘kattas’.
Today, he said, the same state is preparing to manufacture advanced systems like the BrahMos missile. He argued that this shift reflects a bigger structural change in governance, industrial capability, and national security priorities.
According to Sudhanshu Trivedi, the state government has created an environment that attracts defence investments and supports high-technology production.
During the discussion, Trivedi also accused the opposition of ignoring these developments while focusing on political criticism. He maintained that Uttar Pradesh now represents a model of economic progress and strategic capability.
The BJP leader concluded by stating that India’s push toward defence self-reliance has gained momentum through such initiatives, which strengthen both regional industry and national security.
