Story of Kan Singh Nirwan: Kan Singh Nirwan from Katrathal village in Sikar district, Rajasthan, is now a well-known figure across India. By embracing a natural lifestyle, he has become an inspiration for village tourism. Grounded in his connection with nature, land, and cows, Kan Singh aims to create a legacy that future generations will follow. He believes that meaningful work is only possible when one remains connected to their roots.
Just as people in ancient times relied on natural resources, Kan Singh and his family live by similar principles. They follow simple and traditional methods and inspire others to do the same. With this goal in mind, Kan Singh built a unique farm stay called ‘Jor Ki Dhani’ near Sikar city. The farm stay is special because it is made entirely of cow dung and soil.
To Kan Singh, nature is like a mother with its own language, which he has learned to understand. Around 17-18 years ago, he established a center where people from across India and abroad come to learn about earth-friendly practices, natural living, and the importance of cows.
Kan Singh’s love for nature extends to animals as well. He keeps cows and horses in a cowshed at Jor Ki Dhani. In the beginning, many people mocked him, but his family, especially his wife, always stood by him. Despite facing harsh weather conditions, they remained committed to their mission.
The house Kan Singh built is remarkable. It stays cool even in temperatures as high as 48 to 50 degrees Celsius and warm during freezing winters, down to minus 5 degrees Celsius. Tourists from around the world visit this place to experience its comfort and natural design. Kan Singh believes that connecting with cows can address many agricultural and environmental issues.
Kan Singh also emphasizes that India’s strength lies not in its military or corporate power, but in its farmers. He advocates for promoting village tourism as it can create jobs, increase farmers’ income, and encourage cultural exchange.
Through his innovative approach, Kan Singh Nirwan has proven that staying rooted in tradition can lead to modern success and sustainable living.
