Amit Shah Vows To Eradicate Left-Wing Extremism By March 2026

Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the government plans to eradicate Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) by March 2026. Shah, speaking at a press conference on Saturday, emphasized that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is preparing for a decisive campaign against LWE.

Shah stated, “The time has come for the final assault on Left-Wing Extremism.” He highlighted the need for increased efforts in the fight against Maoists. According to Shah, the current operations must accelerate to double the initial pace to eliminate the problem completely. He also stressed the importance of stopping the financing and supply of weapons to Maoists.

During a review meeting in Nava Raipur, Shah discussed several key issues. These included strategies for tackling LWE, improving inter-state coordination, and enhancing the capacity of security forces. Additionally, he underscored the need for faster investigations and prosecutions in Maoist-related cases. Development in Maoist-affected regions also topped the agenda.
