The murder of 22-year-old property dealer Hrithik Pandey in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is escalating into a significant controversy. Following protests by Brahmin community organizations, political parties have begun criticizing the Yogi government, with Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav alleging that government officials are protecting the murder suspects. Yadav also alluded to a connection with the Sarojininagar incident, though he did not provide explicit details.
Rajeshwar Singh, MLA from Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, criticized Former CM Akhilesh Yadav for politicizing the tragedy. Singh posted on X:
“Hon. Akhilesh Yadav Ji, During your rule, Uttar Pradesh was known for murder and loot; on average, 13 murders took place every day, totaling 25,000 murders in 5 years! The government was run by mafia! UP was No.1 in the country in terms of murder!
Today, you should stop doing politics on a tragic incident. As a senior leader, it is not right to spread frenzy and division in society by making statements on a tragedy that requires sensitivity. My suggestion is to use your discretion and not be misled by desperate, defeated local ticket seekers and election-driven leaders!
The tragic death of a youth in Sarojininagar is a significant loss for my Sarojininagar family. We are assured that every criminal has received appropriate punishment under the rule of respected @myogiadityanath Ji!
Adding to his post on X singh said “The government has taken strict action, suspending negligent officers and instructing strict action against the criminals. No one is spared, and no one will be spared. The government is taking strict action, and justice will be done under Yogiji’s rule!!”
