ST bus falls into ditch in Amravati, 3 killed & 36 injured

Sikar: A tragic incident occurred near Maddi, close to Chikhaldara in Amravati district, at 11:30 on Sunday when an ST bus lost control and plunged into a 25-foot-deep gorge. Regrettably, three individuals, including two women, lost their lives, while over 36 passengers sustained injuries. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at the Semadoh Primary Health Centre.

According to authorities, the ST bus was en route from Amravati to Madhya Pradesh when the driver lost focus due to the winding road in the muddy terrain near Chikhaldara, leading to the unfortunate accident. Villagers promptly notified the Semodoh police station team about the incident.

Upon arrival, the police initiated relief and rescue operations. Sadly, Indu Sadhan Gantre (65), Lalita Chimote (30), and one other individual perished at the scene. The police have arranged for post-mortem examinations for all three deceased. Additionally, more than 36 injured individuals have been admitted to the primary health center for medical attention.
