Spiritual leader and Art of Living founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday at Mahakumbhnagar, where he is leading meditation sessions during the ongoing Mahakumbh festival.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar arrived in his private jet, accompanied by 10 to 12 disciples from various countries, to participate in the event.
Upon arrival, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister extended a warm welcome to the spiritual guru. CM Yogi Adityanath presented Sri Sri Ravi Shankar with a shawl and a basket of fruits as a gesture of respect.
Meanwhile, at the same time, the Chief Minister held an important meeting with senior state officials to discuss the ongoing arrangements for the event.
Under Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s leadership, the Maha Kumbh is hosting a special Sudarshan Kriya meditation session. Devotees from countries such as Germany, Dubai, Japan, and the United States are participating in the event, which is scheduled to run from February 1 to 5.
According to Rishabh Prabhat, a disciple of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the event will continue to promote the trinity of meditation, yoga, and spirituality in Mahakumbhnagar throughout the festival.
To cater to the influx of foreign devotees, nearly 250 super-luxury cottages have been constructed at Mahakumbhnagar. These cottages are equipped with modern facilities and offer a glimpse of traditional Indian culture, providing a unique spiritual experience for visitors from around the world.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s presence at the Mahakumbh promises to offer spiritual peace not only to domestic devotees but also to international guests attending the event.
Earlier on Saturday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, along with his spouse Sudesh Dhankhar, visited the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. The Vice President took a holy dip in the sacred river and praised the administration for its “amazing arrangements.”
He lauded the unprecedented gathering of devotees and described the scale of the event as truly historic.
During his visit, Vice President Dhankhar commended CM Yogi Adityanath and the state administration for their exceptional handling of the event, including the swift response to a recent stampede incident. He noted that the crowd at the Mahakumbh was so large it could match the population of the United States.
