Spiritual Meets Diplomatic: Acharya Lokesh Jain Engages With EAM S Jaishankar

The Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) jointly hosted the ‘Sapt Sur, Seven Nations, One Melody’ cultural programme in New Delhi.

The event, held at the iconic Bharat Mandapam, brought together musical and cultural representatives from BIMSTEC countries, symbolising unity through melody.

The programme saw participation from senior government officials, global dignitaries, and spiritual leaders, including Acharya Dr Lokesh Jain.

One of the highlights of the event was a personal interaction between Acharya Lokesh Jain and India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr S Jaishankar.

However, their discussion focused on the ongoing efforts of the World Peace Centre. Acharya Jain founded the organisation to promote harmony. It aims to foster global peace through non-violence and intercultural dialogue.

In a tweet following the meeting, Acharya Lokesh Jain stated, “A meaningful discussion was held today with the Honourable External Affairs Minister of India, Dr Jaishankar Ji, regarding the activities and upcoming programs of the World Peace Centre during the Sur Saptam program organised by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Council for Cultural Relations. His simple, gentle, and charming personality captivates the heart.”

Speaking at the event, Dr S Jaishankar recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment at the BIMSTEC Summit to host such a cultural celebration. He proudly noted that they fulfilled the promise ahead of schedule.

In his address, the Minister spoke about the uncertain and complex nature of today’s world. He stressed the importance of traditional values.

Additionally, Jaishankar noted that cultural heritage offers spiritual strength in challenging times. He further described music as a universal connector and a bridge between nations, echoing the ICCR Director General’s statement, “Music is the soul of civilisation and deeply connects the world.”

People widely respect Acharya Dr Lokesh Jain as a Jain monk, author, poet, and social reformer.

He founded Ahimsa Vishwa Bharati and the World Peace Centre to promote non-violence, harmony, and peace on a global scale.

He has spent over 30 years promoting national character, human values, and mutual understanding in India and beyond.

Dr Jaishankar and Acharya Lokesh Jain engaged in a meaningful meeting. It reflects growing synergy between diplomacy and grassroots peace efforts.

Cultural diplomacy is gaining momentum. Such collaborations promise to strengthen India’s global outreach through peace, tradition, and unity.
