Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan
Bhopal: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan claimed on Sunday that the Congress is in such terrible shape that even leaders like Sonia Gandhi are using the backdoor Rajya Sabha path to join Parliament rather than fighting the Lok Sabha elections. “Rahul Gandhi’s decision-making is erratic, and the opposition party is failing to field candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, which the BJP will win with a record mandate,” he told reporters.
“Rahul Gandhi is a captain who doesn’t know what to do or when. He goes on yatras when he should be preparing for elections, and travels overseas when he has to go on yatras,” claimed Chouhan, who is running for Vidisha in the general elections, warned that if Rahul loses, he will yell against EVMs.
“Congress leaders are abandoning the party due to its terrible condition. After losing election after election, the situation has deteriorated to the point that Sonia Gandhi has declined to run for office and has gained backdoor access into the Rajya Sabha. Now picture what will happen to a party whose supreme leader’s trust has been undermined,” Chouhan stated.
Since 2014, the Congress has lost 50 elections, with Rahul Gandhi losing in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Amethi, he added.
“The Congress party is short on candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. All prominent politicians have retreated after Madam (Sonia Gandhi) announced her decision not to run for office. The Congress is going down. Wherever Rahul Gandhi travels, he harms not only his own party but also INDIA bloc partners like
Akhilesh Yadav (SP), Tejashwi Yadav (RJD), and Arvind Kejriwal (AAP),” according to the former MP Chief Minister.
Chouhan stated that he had visited ten states, including those in the south, and that people were anxious to give the BJP a historic mandate and elect Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the third time.
