Six Women Killed As Car Collides With Truck On Jaipur–Bikaner Highway In Rajasthan

Six women died, and three others were seriously injured when an Ertiga car collided head-on with a truck on the Jaipur-Bikaner National Highway in Rajasthan’s Sikar district on Wednesday, police reported.

The accident occurred around 4 PM near Harsawa village under Fatehpur police station limits.

Police said all victims belonged to the same family. They were returning from Laxmangarh after attending a funeral.

The family travelled in two vehicles. The Ertiga, moving ahead, crashed into the truck coming from the opposite direction.

The collision crushed the car, trapping passengers inside.

Residents rushed to help, pulling out the injured and recovering the bodies before emergency teams arrived.

Officials shifted the injured to the Fatehpur trauma centre. As their conditions worsened, authorities referred them to a medical facility with advanced care.

Fatehpur SHO Surendra Singh said the Ertiga travelled from Laxmangarh to Fatehpur, while the truck headed toward Sikar.

“Six women died on the spot due to the force of impact,” he confirmed.

Police are verifying the identities of the deceased and injured while informing their families.

Authorities seized the truck and launched an investigation to determine the cause.

Preliminary reports indicate over-speeding may have contributed. Investigators have not ruled out human error or mechanical failure.

Traffic on the busy Jaipur-Bikaner highway faced delays during rescue and clearance operations.

Authorities urge drivers to maintain caution on highways and follow traffic rules to prevent such tragedies.
