Shri Panchayati Niranjani Akhada Makes Majestic Entry Into Maha Kumbh Camp With Lord Kartikeya’s Flag

Shri Panchayati Niranjani Akhada, one of the 13 Akhadas established under the inspiration of Adi Shankaracharya to uphold Dharma, made its grand entry into the Maha Kumbh camp on Saturday. This ceremonial procession, carrying the sacred flag of Lord Kartikeya, was a spectacular sight, drawing thousands of residents from Prayagraj to the streets in reverence.

The procession commenced from Baghambari Gaddi Math in Prayagraj, marking the beginning of the Akhada’s formal entry into the Maha Kumbh camps. Leading the procession was the sacred Dharma Dhwaj, symbolizing the Akhada’s spiritual legacy. Behind the flag, a group of Naga sannyasis marched, holding silver umbrellas, sticks, spears, and swords, escorting Lord Kartikeya’s chariot. This grand procession, accompanied by traditional drums and music, featured Naga sannyasis riding elephants, horses, and camels, offering a captivating spectacle for the city’s residents.

The Route And Welcome From Local Residents

The procession further passed through key locations, including Bharadwajpuram’s Labor Chauraha and Matiara Road, before reaching the Alopi Devi Temple. At the temple, the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation had prepared intricate rangoli designs and organized floral showers to honor the procession. Devotees and local residents eagerly awaited the procession, showering the saints with flowers at various points along the route.

Akhada Parishad President Shri Ravindra Puri further joined the procession alongside other saints and sages. He emphasized that the core principles of the Niranjani Akhada are unity and harmony. He further explained that the Maha Kumbh camps serve as centers for spiritual education and initiation, where monks dedicate their lives to protecting and upholding Sanatan Dharma.

As part of the event, the Niranjani Akhada will further initiate thousands of new Naga sannyasis, marking a significant step in strengthening the commitment to spiritual practices and the protection of Dharma in the years to come. In a traditional show of solidarity, Anand Akhara also joined the Niranjani Akhada in the camp entry procession.

Notable Participants In The Procession

Prominent spiritual leaders graced the procession, including Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Kailashanand Giri of Niranjani Akhada, Peethadheeshwar Balbir Giri of Baghambari Gaddi, and Sadhvi Niranjana Jyoti. Hundreds of saints and sages participated in the procession, either walking on foot or riding chariots, adding to the grandeur of the event.

City officials and representatives from the Mela Authority welcomed the saints and sages with garlands and floral showers as the procession crossed the pontoon bridge and entered the Akhada campus. Traditional music, chanting of mantras, and sacred rituals filled the air as the presiding deity of the Akhada, Lord Kartikeya, was ceremonially installed at the camp.

The event concluded with resounding chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Ganga Maiyya Ki Jai” from the gathered saints and devotees. This significant moment further marks the beginning of the grand festival of Sanatan Dharma and Indian culture – Maha Kumbh, set to take place on the banks of Sangam in Prayagraj under the leadership of the Yogi government.

The entry of the Akhadas into the Mela area is one of the most eagerly awaited attractions of the Maha Kumbh. It symbolizes the unity and spiritual fervor that the festival embodies, drawing people from all over the world to Prayagraj for this grand occasion.
