Shocking Case Unfolds: Allegations Of Rape & Murder Rock Kolkata Hospital

In a disturbing development at Kolkata’s R G Kar Medical College & Hospital, a preliminary post-mortem examination of a female trainee doctor has revealed shocking findings.

The report reveals that the officials are treating the trainee doctor’s death, discovered under puzzling circumstances on Friday, as a case of rape and murder.

The victim, a second-year post-graduate student at the hospital, also worked as a house staff with the chest medicine division. She reportedly endured severe trauma before her death, with signs indicating possible strangulation.

The post-mortem also uncovered injuries to the victim’s private parts and a fractured collarbone, further deepening the tragedy.

The full extent of her injuries and cause of death will be clarified in the final post-mortem report, expected to provide more comprehensive details.

Kolkata Police have launched a full-scale investigation, registering charges of rape and murder.

Authorities Apprehend Suspect Sanjay Ray After CCTV Footage

The authorities have apprehended a suspect identified as Sanjay Ray, based on CCTV footage from the hospital. However, police have not disclosed further information about him at this time.

In response to the grave incident, the police have collected statements from fellow staff members and doctors who interacted with the victim.

They are also analyzing her mobile phone records to uncover additional leads.

A special investigation team (SIT) has been established, led by Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Murli Dhar, to expedite the probe.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has urged City Police Commissioner Vineet Kumar Goyal to prioritize the apprehension of those responsible.

The tragedy has sparked widespread outrage among the hospital staff.

In protest, they have initiated a cease-work strike, demanding a judicial inquiry into the incident.

However, the hospital’s emergency services remain operational to ensure continued care for patients.

This case has sent ripples of shock through the community, highlighting the urgent need for justice and a thorough investigation into the tragic event.
