Shashi Kant Tripathi, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer from the 2009 Civil Services batch, has officially assumed the role of Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) for North Central Railway’s Prayagraj division.
Tripathi succeeds Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, who transferred to Northern Railway.
In his new role, Tripathi will oversee public relations for the Prayagraj, Agra, and Jhansi divisions.

A resident of Chitrakoot, Tripathi has an extensive background in railway operations and management.
He graduated from Allahabad University and completed his post-graduation at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi.
His career in the Indian Railways began in 2012 as an Assistant Divisional Operations Manager in the Firozpur Division of Northern Railway.
Over the years, Tripathi has held several key positions, including Deputy Chief Operations Manager FOIS at North Central Railway Headquarters, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Goods in the Agra Division, Senior Divisional Operations Manager in the Jhansi Division, and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager in Prayagraj.
His new role as CPRO will however leverage his extensive experience and expertise in railway operations to enhance public relations and communication within the North Central Railway zone.
