Vineeta Singh, the entrepreneur and Shark Tank India judge, has taken a stand against persistent rumours falsely claiming her death. In a social media post on Saturday, Singh addressed the misleading reports that have been circulating for weeks.
On her platform, Sugar Cosmetics CEO shared a screenshot of a deceptive headline reading, “A hard day for India: We say goodbye to Vineeta Singh.” Singh refuted these claims, emphasizing that such false reports have been circulating for the past five weeks. Despite her efforts to combat the spread of misinformation, including filing a complaint with the Mumbai Crime Branch and reporting to Meta (formerly Facebook) and the Mumbai Cyber Police, the rumours have persisted.
In a tweet, Vineeta expressed her frustration with the situation, particularly when people panic and contact her family to verify the false news. Seeking suggestions from netizens on how to handle the ongoing misinformation campaign, she highlighted the toll it takes on her and her loved ones.

In response to Vineeta’s post, many social media users expressed concern and urged authorities to take prompt action against the spread of fake news. Mumbai Police also responded, urging Singh to reach out to them, to which she thanked them for their support.
Vineeta Singh has played a vital role in Shark Tank India since its inception. Recently, she shared a vibrant video from the wrap-up party of the show’s third season on her Instagram handle, expressing gratitude to her fellow sharks and the production team.
