HD Revanna, the father of Karnataka MP Prajwal Revanna, has responded to accusations of a conspiracy surrounding “old videos,” signaling a potential escalation in the controversy over his son’s purported connection to explicit content.
A woman recently filed a police case against Prajwal Revanna and his father, alleging sexual assault. Prajwal Revanna, an MP from the Janata Dal (Secular) and the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, has vehemently denied these latest allegations, counter-claiming that the circulated videos were morphed and filing a police complaint in response.
Following his participation in the Lok Sabha elections, Prajwal Revanna departed for Germany, leaving behind a swirl of controversy. HD Revanna, addressing the allegations, dismissed them as part of a larger political conspiracy, emphasizing that the incriminating content was several years old. He also hinted that any decision regarding Prajwal’s party membership would be at the discretion of the party leadership.
Despite an FIR being registered against both father and son, HD Revanna refrained from directly addressing the legal implications, citing political maneuvering by the ruling Congress party. He underscored the enduring history of alleged targeting faced by the Deve Gowda family over four decades, citing past investigations by authorities.

When questioned about his communication with Deve Gowda on the matter, HD Revanna disclosed that no such discussion had taken place, opting instead to defer further comment until the special investigation team concludes its probe.
The recent FIR compounds the existing controversy surrounding Prajwal Revanna, who had previously come under fire due to objectionable videos circulating on social media purportedly featuring him. The latest allegations detail claims of sexual harassment, intimidation, and the violation of a woman’s dignity, with the complainant further alleging inappropriate behavior towards her daughter during a video call.
The situation continues to unfold as legal proceedings progress and investigations intensify into the allegations leveled against both Prajwal Revanna and his father, HD Revanna.
