On Monday, the Prime Minister extended his wishes to the nation on the seventh day of Shardiya Navratri, a day dedicated to Maa Kaalratri, the fierce and protective form of Goddess Durga.
Posting on X, PM Modi said, “Salutations and obeisance at the feet of Devi Ma! May we pray to her to remove all sorrows and infuse new vitality into their lives. May the blessings of Devi Mata bring welfare to all.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took to social media to convey his greetings.
He wrote, “The seventh form of Goddess Durga, Maa Kaalratri, destroys the wicked and grants protection to her devotees. May the animate and inanimate world prosper, may everyone’s life be filled with happiness, prosperity, and health.”
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted the significance of the day, stating, “On the seventh day ofrat, the worship of Maa Kalaratri holds special significance. This form of Maa Durga teaches us that with faith and courage, victory can be achieved over every darkness.”
She further prayed for societal peace and energy, adding, “We pray to Maa Kalaratri that with her blessings, all negative forces be destroyed, and peace, harmony, and new energy prevail in society. May all devotees receive the boon of Maa’s boundless strength and fearlessness.”
The name Kaalratri combines ‘kaal (time or death) and ‘ratri’ (night or darkness), symbolising the force that ends darkness and ignorance, making way for light and wisdom.
Furthermore, Maa Kaalratri is considered the most fearsome manifestation of Durga. Her dark complexion represents her intense and resolute nature.
She is depicted with four arms, embodying both fear and protection.
Her upper right hand grants boons, the lower right offers protection and fearlessness, while her upper left wields a sword and her lower left carries an iron club to vanquish evil forces.
Navratri 2025 is being observed across India with great devotion. Thousands of devotees are visiting temples to offer prayers and seek blessings from Maa Kaalratri.
The celebrations also highlight faith, courage, and devotion, as citizens perform rituals to seek prosperity, harmony, and strength.
Moreover, the observances on this day serve as a reminder of the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.
Devotion to Maa Kaalratri strengthens faith, courage, and righteousness, promoting personal growth and the well-being of society.
