Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi on Thursday.
The three-day event, organised from September 17 to 19, will bring together global semiconductor companies, policymakers, investors, researchers, start-ups and academia.
The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and SEMI, the global semiconductor and electronics industry association, are jointly organising the event under the theme ‘Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem’.
SEMICON India 2026 will feature more than 600 exhibitors, including around 300 international companies, across 15,000 square metres of exhibition space.
More than 150 speakers will discuss key developments and challenges across the semiconductor and electronics ecosystem.
The exhibition will include six country pavilions and 12 state government pavilions, along with dedicated platforms for start-ups, students, innovation, workforce development and women in the semiconductor industry.
Around 40 start-ups will feature at the Startup Pavilion, while the Workforce Development Pavilion will focus on skills and careers in microelectronics.
The ‘Sand to Silicon to Systems’ experience will showcase the semiconductor journey from materials and manufacturing to chip design and systems.
The event will, however, feature a start-up pitch competition, student hackathon and innovation showcase.
The conference programme will cover semiconductor manufacturing, artificial intelligence, supply-chain resilience, advanced packaging, materials and equipment, chip design, research and development, start-ups, innovation and talent development.
Ahead of the event, PM Modi met leading semiconductor CEOs and urged greater industry participation in India’s next phase of growth. He stressed government-industry collaboration in skilling, innovation, AI and quantum computing.
The meeting included representatives from SEMI, Micron, Intel, AMD, ASML, Tata Electronics, Foxconn, IBM Research and other major companies.
