Self-Reliance Is Key To Achieving Developed India: Dr Dinesh Sharma

Rajya Sabha MP and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Dr Dinesh Sharma stated that self-reliance is the key to fulfilling India’s vision of a developed nation.

Speaking at Halwasiya Market in Hazratganj, Lucknow, during a dialogue on GST reforms, Dr Sharma highlighted the role of traders as the backbone of India’s economy.

Swadeshi Campaign Forms the Basis of Atmanirbhar Bharat

Dr Sharma emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swadeshi campaign is central to achieving an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

“The slogan ‘Har Ghar Swadeshi’ (Swadeshi in every home) symbolises India’s journey toward self-reliance,” he said.

He added that some negative forces challenge India’s self-reliance goals, but PM Modi turns every challenge into an opportunity.

“India will now produce all types of goods domestically, and consumption will happen within the country,” Dr Sharma noted.

Dr Sharma praised the recent GST rate reductions. He said they will increase sales for traders and allow citizens to purchase goods at lower prices during festivals.

“With the new GST reforms, the public is already enjoying a ‘savings festival’,” he said.

He urged traders to ensure that the benefits of GST cuts reach the common people. He also highlighted that the changes aim to promote Swadeshi products. Traders should sell Swadeshi goods, and consumers should prioritise buying them.

Dr Sharma said, “Under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, Next-Gen GST reforms will accelerate India’s economic growth, empower farmers and industries, and realise the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

He noted that traders and citizens alike are appreciating the reforms. “Reduced GST rates have directly benefited daily-use items, and the message from traders is clear: ‘Lower GST – Received Benefits, Thanks Modi Government!’”

On the second day of Sharadiya Navratri, Dr Sharma, along with senior traders like Sanjay Gupta, conducted a foot march at Halwasiya Market. They engaged with traders, distributed flowers, and shared information about reduced GST rates. Traders expressed their gratitude to PM Modi for the reforms.

Other prominent trader leaders present were Avnish Tripathi, Harvinder Singh, Mohammad Afzal, Ashish Gupta, Vimarsh Rastogi, Tahir Hussain, Anshu Srivastava, and Deepak Ramchandani.
