Security Tightened Amid PM’s Official Visit To Srinagar On 10th International Yoga Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi To Visit Srinagar on the occasion of 10th International Yoga Day amid multi-layer security. This is PM Modi’s firs visit to Jammu and Kashmir after taking oath as PM for the third tenure.

A ring of security is thrown in the route and on the venue of 10th International Day of Yoga celebrations. PM is to attend the celebration in the city on Friday.

PM will reach there by the evening of Thursday, however he will make no interaction as it is purely official visit.

The PM will take a helicopter from the technical airport in Srinagar to the Army’s 15 corps headquarters in Badami Bagh cantonment. The helicopter will land at Raj Bhawan in the Chashma Shahi neighborhood of Srinagar.

After that, he will proceed to the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), which is located near the shore of the well-known Dal Lake, to officially launch 84 projects in J&K and lay the foundation for them.

PM Modi will take part in the “Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K” event at SKICC on Thursday. The event will take place at approximately six o’clock in the evening. In addition, he would introduce the Rs 1,800 crore Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).

SPG is handling the security of International Yoga Day

SPG, that guards Prime Minister is taking care of security of the venue. The SPG and state security are collaborating closely to ensure that every last element of VVIP protection.

Srinagar city is under extraordinary security measures. There is deployment of a significant number of police officers and the CAPF.

Ther is an inspection of every car that enters the city via one of the surrounding districts—Budgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, or Baramulla.

Even with increased security, there isn’t any anxiety in the city or any other part of the Valley. People are going about their everyday lives as usual, attending offices, businesses, and educational institutions.
