Security Heightened For PM Modi’s Bengaluru Metro Launch

Security has been significantly heightened in Bengaluru as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to inaugurate the Bommasandra Metro Line and the Majestic Railway Station on Sunday.

The Karnataka Police Department has deployed a robust force to ensure a smooth and secure event. Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh is personally overseeing the extensive security operations.

The deployment comprises four Joint Police Commissioners, 12 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), 50 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), 200 police inspectors, and 650 police sub-inspectors, supported by police constables and reserve forces.

The authorities aim to prevent any untoward incidents during the Prime Minister’s visit.

Police have established barricades and check posts at over 50 strategic locations throughout Bengaluru.

Authorities have already commenced vehicle inspections and are rigorously enforcing them.

Police have transformed the Ragigudda Metro Station, the site of the Yellow Line Metro inauguration, into a fortress to maintain strict control over the area.

Further security measures include barricades on the city’s outskirts, where vehicle checks have been ongoing for the last three days.

Authorities constantly monitor suspicious vehicle movements and collect detailed records of riders.

Numerous officers in plain clothes have been deployed across the city to monitor the situation discreetly, police sources confirm.

Ragigudda Metro Station Under Tight Security

Authorities will strictly enforce traffic regulations on the day of the event. They will ban vehicle movement from the NICE Road towards Electronics City between 10 AM and 2:30 PM and designate alternative routes for motorists.

Additionally, several key Metro stations, Lalbagh, South End Circle, Jayanagar, and RV Road, will remain closed between 10 AM and 12 noon to facilitate safe and secure passage for the Prime Minister.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has arranged elaborate welcome events along the Prime Minister’s route to the inauguration venues.

Thousands of party workers will greet him at prominent points, including Mekhri Circle, Chalukya Circle, Kanteerava Sangolli Rayanna Circle, South End Circle, Ragigudda, and Electronics City, creating an energetic atmosphere across the city.

The Bommasandra Metro Line is a crucial infrastructure project that will improve connectivity to Bengaluru’s southern industrial region, easing commuter congestion and boosting economic activity.

Similarly, the Majestic Railway Station is a key transit hub, and its modernisation promises enhanced travel experiences for thousands of daily passengers.

The coordinated security deployment reflects the government’s commitment to public safety and efficient urban development. Bengaluru Police, in partnership with local agencies, continues to monitor the city closely, ensuring that the Prime Minister’s visit proceeds without disruption.
