Sanskrit Week Celebration 2026 Concludes In Delhi With Cultural Showcase By 200 Students

The Sanskrit Week Celebration 2026 concluded in Delhi with a vibrant showcase of Sanskrit, Indian culture and traditional art forms, bringing together around 200 students from 17 schools.

The event, which began on August 23, featured dance, singing, yoga, theatre and innovative Sanskrit competitions through which students showcased their talent.

Students from schools including Delhi Public School RK Puram participated in the programme.

The concluding ceremony was held at the Sanatan Dharma Temple in Mansarovar Garden, Delhi, and was jointly organised by Samskrita Bharati Delhi Prant Bal Kendra, Baldev Ji Ek Sahara Foundation.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana.

A presentation of a complete Ramayana in a single Sanskrit verse drew the audience’s attention.

Students from different schools and institutions, however, presented a range of Sanskrit performances.

Students of Delhi Public School RK Puram presented ‘Mama Mata Devata’, with Saadyant and Bhuvnesh among the students participating in the presentation.

Pranay, Nandini, Eshita, Avni and Aavika participated in the programme, showcasing their talent through Sanskrit performances.

Saadyant performed a Sanskrit song accompanied by tabla.

Delhi Public School RK Puram students presented a short Sanskrit play highlighting the importance of education.

Teachers and parents associated with Delhi Public School said connecting children with Sanskrit helped develop cultural values and increased their interest in the language.

The event, however, featured yoga and Indian classical dance.

Shivalay Yogasana Sanstha presented a Shiva Tandava performance, while children from the Kathak Academy performed to Namami Shamishan Nirvan Roopam.

Rashmi Joshi’s team presented a cultural performance.

Girls from Maharaja Agrasen Vidyalaya, Ashok Nagar, performed a dance on Ganesh Vandana.

Jai Bharati students presented a dance drama, while students of Lalit Mahajan Vidyalaya performed Vande Mataram, adding a patriotic element to the programme.

Honours and Participation

Professor Dr Rachana and several other dignitaries were honoured during the concluding ceremony. All participating students received certificates and mementoes as encouragement.

According to the organisers, around 200 students from 17 schools and 100 dignitaries attended the programme, with more than 10 school principals participating.

Programme coordinator Jai Dev Veer said he is a Sanskrit teacher and is working to ensure that the language finds a place among the younger generation and receives due recognition.

The organisers said the Sanskrit Week aimed not only to promote the language but to connect children with India’s culture, traditions and knowledge heritage.

Through dance, music, yoga, theatre and Sanskrit verses, students demonstrated how the ancient language can remain relevant and engaging for younger generations.
