‘Sangathan Parv’, BJP Launches Nationwide Membership Drive On September 2

The BJP will launch a nationwide membership drive on September 2, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheading the initiative. The drive, named ‘Sangathan Parv,’ will unfold over two months in two distinct phases.

The BJP’s General Secretary Vinod Tawde announced that the membership drive would start with the renewal of PM Modi’s membership, a symbolic gesture to mark the beginning of the campaign. Party President JP Nadda will oversee this renewal.

Tawde explained that the party conducts a membership drive every five to six years. According to the BJP’s constitution, all existing members must renew their memberships. The party aims to reach a target of ten crore members, excluding states where elections are upcoming.

The process of membership drive named ‘Sangathan Parv,’ will take two phases. The first phase will run from September 2 to September 25. After a one-week break, the second phase will commence and conclude on October 15.

Tawde also highlighted the BJP’s growth since it became the world’s largest political party in 2014 by surpassing China’s Communist Party. He noted that the 2019 drive impacted by Covid constraints, which led to a shorter campaign.

Individuals can join the BJP through various methods, including making a missed call, applying via the BJP’s portal, or using digital platforms like the NaMo App and QR codes. The goal is to engage as many people as possible across all demographics.

The party hopes to surpass its previous membership numbers and solidify its dominance in Indian politics. Recently, a workshop was held with top BJP leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Party Chief JP Nadda, to prepare for the drive.

BJP MP Sambit Patra emphasized the party’s commitment to serving India, rather than merely seeking political power. The drive aims to expand the party’s reach and strengthen its position in the political landscape.
