Sandhya Bajaj Highlights Delhi Government Initiatives On Women, Clean Energy, Traffic And Safety

Senior Supreme Court advocate and BJP leader Sandhya Bajaj highlighted initiatives of the Rekha Gupta government in Delhi, focusing on women’s empowerment, employment, clean energy, housing, environment, traffic management and public safety.

Bajaj described the Delhi Laxmi Yojana as a step towards strengthening women financially. The scheme provides monthly assistance of ₹2,500 to eligible women. She further highlighted the Durga EV Auto Scheme, which aims to support women’s employment and self-reliance.

Sandhya Bajaj referred to rooftop solar initiatives under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, property rights for residents of unauthorised colonies through PM-UDAY, and measures such as artificial ponds and puja material collection centres to promote eco-friendly immersion practices.

On traffic management, Sandhya Bajaj said Delhi needs more than flyovers and wider roads. Citing TomTom’s 2025 data, she noted that New Delhi recorded an average congestion level of 60.2%, with motorists losing around 104 additional hours to traffic during the year. She called for better integration of the Metro, buses, e-buses and autos, along with organised parking, digital technology and improved traffic signal management.

Sandhya Bajaj stressed the need to strengthen child safety through wider CCTV coverage, safer public spaces and timely investigation of POCSO cases. She stressed effective implementation to ensure schemes reach people and improve civic services across Delhi.
