Congress General Secretary Sachin Pilot expressed strong confidence on Friday that the Congress party will secure victories in the upcoming Assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir (J&K). Speaking to the media in Jodhpur, Pilot stated that Congress and its allies will form governments with substantial majorities in both regions.
Pilot criticized the BJP’s performance in Haryana, noting their decade-long rule and recent Chief Minister change as signs of weakness. “The BJP’s change in leadership indicates their acceptance of defeat,” he said. He predicted that Congress will achieve a historic majority in Haryana, reflecting widespread support among the people.
He also highlighted the INDIA bloc’s progress, mentioning that Congress has included the Communist Party in Haryana, showcasing their commitment to inclusivity and coalition politics.

Addressing broader electoral issues, Pilot pointed out that elections are also forthcoming in Jharkhand and Maharashtra. He questioned the BJP’s commitment to their “one nation, one election” promise, noting delays in by-elections in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
Pilot praised Rahul Gandhi’s role as Leader of the Opposition (LoP), emphasizing his effective challenge to the government and the changing political landscape. “Rahul Gandhi’s leadership reflects a new reality and has energized Congress workers,” he added.
Additionally, Pilot criticized the Union government for neglecting Rajasthan in budget announcements. He questioned why the state has been overlooked, attributing it to the BJP’s poor performance in the last elections.
