In a significant organizational reshuffle following the recent assembly elections in five states and ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been relieved of her role as the in-charge of UP Congress. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, takes on the responsibility as the in-charge of Chhattisgarh, a state recently lost by the Congress to the BJP.

The changes include Mukul Wasnik for Gujarat, Jitendra Singh for Assam and Madhya Pradesh, Randeep Singh Surjewala for Karnataka, Dipak Babaria for Delhi and Haryana, Avinash Pande for Uttar Pradesh, and Kumari Selja for Uttarakhand.

The reshuffle also puts Sachin Pilot in the spotlight as he takes on a crucial role in Chhattisgarh, following his previous stints as an MP, Union Minister of State, and Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Pilot’s new responsibility comes after a power struggle with Ashok Gehlot, where he lost the deputy CM post, leading to a managed resolution by the high command. Despite presenting a united front in the Rajasthan elections, the Congress faced defeat, setting the stage for this significant reshuffle within the party.
