The RSS is observing its 101st Foundation Day on Tuesday, coinciding with Vijayadashami.
Founded by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on September 27, 1925, the organisation traditionally marks its Foundation Day on Vijayadashami according to the Hindu calendar.
RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat addressed the organisation’s annual Vijayadashami rally in Nagpur, highlighting India’s growing global stature and its potential to help address complex international challenges through traditional wisdom.
Bhagwat emphasised the role of India’s ideological heritage in its emergence as a leading global power. He further noted that the spirit of self-awareness, or swabodh, finds expression in the Preamble to the Indian Constitution.
The annual Vijayadashami gathering remains a key event on the RSS calendar, bringing together volunteers to reflect on the organisation’s founding principles and its stated focus on service, social responsibility and national development.
