RSS Sangh Akhil Bharatiya Sabha: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) Sarsanghchalak, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar once stated, “Sangh is the organization of the entire society,” a sentiment we’ve experienced over the past 99 years. Assessing the scope of Sangh’s work from 2017 to 2024 highlights its comprehensiveness. The Sangh’s activities span across 99 percent of the country’s districts, as stated by Dr. Manmohan Vaidya, co-secretary of RSS, during a press briefing held at the Swami Dayanand Saraswati Complex after the inauguration of the All India Pratinidhi Sabha.
Sunilji Ambekar, the All India publicity chief, shared the stage, along with All India Co-Publicity Chiefs Narendra Kumar ji and Alok Kumar ji. The inauguration of the All India Representative Assembly of RSS was conducted by respected Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan ji Bhagwat and Honorable Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale ji, who offered flowers to the picture of Bharat Mata. This year’s meeting, organized from 15-17 March at Reshim Bagh, Smriti Mandir complex in Nagpur (Maharashtra), hosts over 1500 workers from all 45 provinces.
73,117 Sangh branches are organized daily, Dr. Manmohan Vaidya shared, explaining the expansion of Sangh’s work. These branches include 60 percent students and 40 percent workers or business professionals, with adults above 40 years constituting 11 percent. There has been an increase of 4466 branches since last year. Weekly meetings have also increased by 840, totaling 27,717, while Sangh Mandali stands at 10,567. Additionally, there are 43 thousand direct branches in 10 thousand urban settlements.
The Sangh aims to enhance women’s participation in society, conducting 460 women’s conferences in 44 provinces through Rashtra Sevika Samiti. This initiative saw the participation of 5 lakh 61 thousand women, crucial for the upcoming centenary year of the Sangh. Efforts are underway to celebrate the birth centenary of Ahilyabai Holkar from May 2024 to April 2025, emphasizing her contributions towards religious site renovations and economic self-reliance initiatives.
In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Sangh volunteers will engage in door-to-door campaigns to ensure 100 percent voter turnout. Extensive public contact was made during the consecration of Ramlala in Ayodhya, with 44 lakh 98 thousand 334 Ram devotees reaching out to 19 crore 38 lakh 49 thousand 71 families across villages and towns.
Notably, there’s been a significant change in the composition of Sangh education classes, with the addition of new courses to the structure. More than one lakh requests to join RSS are received annually from 2017 to 2023, a figure that doubled in January and February 2024 following the consecration of Ram Lalla.
