Rohilkhand University VC Anil Kumar Rai Meets CM Yogi Adityanath To Discuss Higher Education

Prof (Dr) Anil Kumar Rai, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, paid a courtesy visit to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and presented the Chief Minister with an idol of Lord Shri Ram and several books authored by Prof Rai.

The meeting focused on strengthening higher education, implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and integrating the Indian Knowledge Tradition into contemporary academic practices.

CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed Prof Rai’s books on NEP 2020 and the Indian Knowledge Tradition and appreciated Prof Rai’s academic contributions. These subjects seek to connect India’s intellectual heritage, philosophy, culture and values with modern education.

NEP 2020 aims to make education more inclusive, multidisciplinary, innovative and employment-oriented.

Integrating traditional Indian knowledge systems into academic programmes can help preserve the country’s cultural and intellectual heritage.

During the interaction, Prof Rai sought the Chief Minister’s guidance on improving university standards, promoting research and innovation, expanding skill-development opportunities and aligning higher education with national and societal needs.

Prof Rai emphasised that education must go beyond awarding degrees.

Universities should equip students with knowledge, practical skills, ethical values and social responsibility while encouraging entrepreneurship, technological innovation and research.

Prof Rai thanked CM Yogi Adityanath for the guidance and reiterated Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University’s commitment to advancing education, research, innovation and skill development in line with the state government’s priorities.

Prof Rai stated that the university would continue to provide quality education suited to evolving global requirements while familiarising students with India’s knowledge systems, cultural heritage and values.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen academic institutions and advance higher education in line with the objectives of NEP 2020.
